June 2026 Muhurats: The Classical Calendar for New Beginnings
For the muhurta tradition, June 2026 is a month with several notable points. This guide describes them. It is about a classical practice for choosing moments for beginnings, not about investing, and nothing in it suggests when to begin any investment.
The month's notable dates
2 June - Jupiter enters Cancer
Jupiter moves into Cancer, its sign of exaltation, and stays there until 31 October 2026. The tradition reads an exalted Jupiter as a dignified placement for the planet of wisdom and growth.
8 June - Venus enters Cancer
Venus joins Jupiter in Cancer until 4 July.
18 June - Guru Pushya
Pushya nakshatra falls on a Thursday morning - Guru Pushya Yoga, one of the most celebrated combinations in the muhurta tradition. Our Guru Pushya 2026 guide explains why.
29 June - Mercury turns retrograde
Mercury stations retrograde late on 29 June and turns direct on 24 July. Classically a retrograde Mercury is read as a time for review rather than new starts.
How a day is chosen
Within the month, the tradition looks for a favoured Shukla Paksha tithi, a nakshatra the texts prefer for the purpose, a fitting weekday, and a time outside Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal. Our guide to shubh muhurta lists the classical factors, and the daily Panchang shows them for your city.
A personal muhurta
A personal muhurta also reads the running dasha in a person's chart. The Dasha Calculator shows yours, and our guide to dasha periods explains how the tradition reads them.
