How to read this calendar
Vedic transit interpretation rests on a simple frame: each planet rules specific sectors and commodities, and when a planet changes signs, goes retrograde, or aspects another planet, the assets it rules respond. Saturn and Jupiter are the slowest-moving and produce the most durable macro effects (2.5 and 1 year per sign respectively). Rahu and Ketu invert energy across 18-month cycles. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars move faster and produce shorter-term volatility patterns.
Why eclipses matter most
In classical Vedic finance astrology, eclipses are the most market-impactful events. A solar eclipse temporarily darkens the Sun's signification (gold, government, leadership, PSU stocks); a lunar eclipse does the same for the Moon (silver, public mood, FMCG, dairy). The 12 days surrounding an eclipse — 6 before and 6 after — are traditionally avoided for new positions and favoured for closing speculative ones. Eclipse degrees become "hot zones" in the chart that activate again whenever transit planets cross them in the following 18-24 months.
Retrograde periods are NOT all bad
Mercury retrograde (3-4 times yearly, ~3 weeks each) gets the public press, but it is rarely the most consequential. Saturn retrograde (4+ months yearly) is a window for restructuring existing positions, paying off debt, and accumulating value plays. Mars retrograde (every 2 years, ~2.5 months) brings sharp reversals in defense/real-estate momentum. Jupiter retrograde (~4 months yearly) is a slowdown in expansion but not a contraction — useful for selective accumulation.
