Understanding Choghadiya

Choghadiya (also spelled Chaughadiya) divides the day and night into 8 periods each, ruled by different planets. Each period carries a traditional quality: Amrit (nectar) and Shubh (auspicious) are counted among the favourable, while Kaal (time) and Udveg (agitation) are counted among the unfavourable. This is a classical scheme of day-division, not a view on any market.
