What is Panchang?
Panchang (Sanskrit: Panchangam) is the Vedic almanac - literally "five limbs" of time. The five elements are: Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (lunar mansion), Yoga (lunisolar combination), and Karana (half of a tithi). Together they define the quality of each moment in time.
The Panchang names the qualities the tradition assigns to a day: Rahu Kalam is the daily window classically counted inauspicious for beginning anything of importance; Abhijit Muhurta is the ~48-minute midday period classically counted the most favourable; and each Nakshatra carries its own traditional character, from the unsettled Ardra to the well-regarded Pushya. This is classical timing description, not financial advice.
