What is Panchang?

Panchang (Sanskrit: Panchangam) is the Vedic almanac - literally "five limbs" of time. The five elements are: Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (lunar mansion), Yoga (lunisolar combination), and Karana (half of a tithi). Together they define the quality of each moment in time.

For investors and traders, Panchang provides critical timing intelligence: Rahu Kalam marks inauspicious windows to avoid major decisions; Abhijit Muhurta (midday golden period) is traditionally the most powerful time for wealth-creating actions; and each Nakshatra carries specific market characteristics - from volatile Ardra periods to the wealth-amplifying energy of Pushya.

Avoid for investments
Rahu Kalam - inauspicious period ruled by shadow planet Rahu. Avoid new investments, signing contracts or major financial decisions.
Best for wealth actions
Abhijit Muhurta - midday period of ~48 minutes considered universally auspicious for wealth-creating actions, new investments and financial planning.
Market character
Each Nakshatra sets the emotional and market tone for the day. Traders using Vedic timing often align entry/exit decisions with Nakshatra quality for better outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Panchang is the Vedic almanac of five daily elements — tithi, vara, nakshatra, yoga and karana — used to judge the quality of a day. AstroCapitalX presents it for educational market-timing context, not investment advice.
Traders use it to read the day's nakshatra and tithi mood and to note inauspicious windows such as Rahu Kalam when many practitioners avoid starting new positions. It is one timing input among many, never a buy or sell signal.
Rahu Kalam is a roughly 90-minute period each day traditionally considered inauspicious for starting important activities. Its timing shifts by weekday and sunrise.
No. Because it depends on local sunrise, tithi and nakshatra timings vary by place and date. Our Panchang is computed for Indian market hours (IST).
