About this Sri Yantra · 4" Brass

A Sri Yantra measuring 4 inches, made of brass, with a recorded gross weight of 350 grams. The Sri Yantra, also called the Sri Chakra, is one of the most widely known yantras in Hindu worship. Its design is fixed by tradition: nine interlocking triangles, four pointing upward and five downward, form forty-three smaller triangles around a central point, the bindu, and are enclosed by rings of lotus petals and an outer square with four gates.

In the Shri Vidya tradition the Sri Yantra is the diagram of the goddess Lalita Tripurasundari, and it is also widely worshipped as a form of Lakshmi. It is traditionally installed in the home shrine facing east, offered flowers, kumkum and a lamp, and contemplated from the outer square inward to the bindu, a practice described as a journey from the outer world to the centre. Fridays and festivals such as Diwali and Navratri are customary times to begin its worship.

What you receive is the brass yantra as listed. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc that is harder-wearing than plain copper and keeps a warm golden colour when polished. No stand, frame or box is mentioned on this listing, so plan for a clean, dry place in the shrine where it will not be moved often, and see the care notes for keeping the metal bright.

The Sri Yantra is a devotional object and is not prescribed by a chart in the way a gemstone is. If you want guidance on timing or practice that suits your chart, ask an astrologer.

Astrological significance

The Sri Yantra is listed under Venus here, following the common association of Venus (Shukra) with Lakshmi and with beauty, art and comfort in classical Jyotish. Some practitioners link it with all nine planets instead. As a devotional diagram it is not usually prescribed or ruled out by a birth chart in the way gemstones are, but an astrologer may suggest timings, mantras or a placement that suit your chart.

Care & first wear

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Brass darkens over time; to restore it, use a little lemon juice with salt, tamarind paste or a mild brass polish, then rinse, dry fully and buff. Do not use steel wool, which scratches fine lines, and do not leave flowers, water or kumkum on it for long.
